♡Update♡

Hi lovelies(:
I'm sorry that I didn't make a post last Friday and I'm also sorry that I've been MIA on Tumblr recently. I haven't been answering your emails or messages because the past 5 weeks have been extremely rough.
I'm just going to do a little update so you all are informed and I can answer a majority of the questions I've been receiving.
For starters, the end of February was THE WORST. I somehow managed to pull a muscle in my chest and the pain was killer. It hurt to breathe, I was on bed rest for about a week and a half, which also meant I was extremely behind on work and things like that. Then as soon as my chest started to gradually get better, I became sick again, this time with walking pneumonia. My lungs were completely filled in fluid, I was tired all the time, I had zero energy, and doing the slightest things such as pouring myself a drink drained all the energy I gained. So again, I was back on bed rest for about 2 weeks, which means I was even more behind on things I needed to do. Life's been rough between me being sick and making up all the things I'd missed.

On a good note, I made the softball team and I'm doing really good with it. Well, besides for having all kinds of bruises and scrapes from sliding and stuff. My body is pretty damaged at the moment.
I also started dancing again, if you didn't know :)
I'm doing good overall, Im the happiest I've been in a really long time.

But yeah that's seriously all I have to update you all on. My posts will go back to normal and I have tons of ideas as to what I can write about for future posts♡

I hope you all have a great night♡♡♡

♡February Favorites♡

A lot of you requested me to do a monthly favorites for this Fridays post :) These are all going to be my monthly favorites for February. I'm sorry I didn't post this up before March began but I've been sick.  ): But I've been feeling a lot better and still wanted to make a post for you all tonight. I hope you enjoy and feel free to share your favorite items of last month with me :)

I got these shoes from Karmaloop during the sale they were having last month and I looooove them. They're still having the sale in case you are interested and they are $69.95, originally marked down from $100.00. These shoes are leopard print and are similar to vans, except they have a higher platform sole. They give a 2 inch height difference. These shoes are so comfortable and are my current obsession.

These are the Huf "maple leaf" socks, they're black and a mint combination but also are glow in the dark. They look really good paired with vans and match with any outfit you choose. I got these from Karmaloop as well and they were $10.00

The lip tar is the color I've been wearing a lot on my lips. A lot of you girls have been asking me questions regarding what the name is. Its called Hoochie. It's a matte liquid lipstick that contains no gluten, paraban-free & 100%vegan. I got this from Karmaloop as well for $18.00 last month

These Oreos are so damn good. They're limited edition which means I'm going to cry when they're no longer in my life. But they're two vanilla cookies with a rice crispy filling in the middle. If you see them the next time you're grocery shopping I recommend you try them.

This G5 vape pen is pretty dope. It comes in a variety of flavors (blueberry, mango, vanilla, peach) if you don't know what a vape pen is its similar to a "portable hookah" or "electronic cigarettes."

This XO chain necklace I've been wearing every single day for the past month and a half because Abel (The Weeknd) is my babyyy :). lol, if you want one for yourself you can get one by contacting http://instagram.com/xo_chain_gang
Facebook.com/XOchain

These nebula tube socks I've been wearing with my white chucks throughout the month of February. They're so soft and keep you really warm. I got these off of Karmaloop as well for $12.00

I've been obsessed with these cheetah print plugs. They're made out of plastic and stone and they're cute. The size is a 2mm" gauge and I got them from Spencer's for $10.00

Lastly, Shea moisture; Shea butter I've been using all throughout the month of February till now. I use both deep conditioning methods to encourage healthy hair growth, repair damaged hair and encourage my curly hair to come back. So far the process is going really well. My curls are slowly resurfacing and I'm no longer applying heat to my hair. I got these products at Walgreens and they were both $20.00 each bottle.

♡Stretching Earlobes/Piercings Q&A♡

♡How long should I wait to stretch a new piercing?

I would recommend a couple months. The range I would recommend would be 3-6 months before you start stretching. Just to provide the piercing to heal and avoid infection and things like that.

♡Should I take out the jewelry when I'm sleeping?

It's all up to you and your personal preference. Some people find it uncomfortable while others are perfectly fine. However, if you just went up a new size I'd recommend you try to sleep with the jewelry in because if you don't, your earlobe may shrink.

♡Should I take out my jewelry in the shower?

Again, that's all personal preference. It's not going to change anything about the piercing if you do or not. However, it does allow a really good opportunity to clean the piercing and your ears. also it provides the chance to increase circulation in your earlobes.

♡Is it okay to skip sizes?

I wouldn't recommend it at all. Skipping sizes can definitely effect the stretching process, your earlobes will thin out quicker and that can cause your ears to snap and break, which would not be good. Also your ears will be aching terribly. So just have patience with the stretching process.

♡How long should I wait in between stretching?

I wait a couple months. So around a 2-3 month period just to allow my ears to become used to the size I'm at currently and to better my chances for an easier process when going up sizes. But, if you're dying to start stretching to a new size I'd say about a month to a month and a 1/2 at a minimal.

♡What is "down sizing ?"

Down sizing is when you go down a size. This allows your earlobes to become thicker to prevent breakage possibility. I'd recommend after you go up 4 sizes, you go down one just to ensure your earlobes are in good condition for your next size.

♡Can I stretch with a spiral?

Yes you can. Stretching with a spiral is actually a lot more better than stretching with a taper because a taper provides unevenness and can cause thinning more quickly and again, breakage.

♡What is "ear cheese" and how do I prevent it?

Ear cheese is the buildup in your earlobes with contact to your plugs which is consisted of dead skin cells and oils in your skin. It's also called ear cheese because if its not taken care of, it will smell like cheese. You can prevent it by cleaning your jewelry and ears DAILY.

♡What jewelry should I buy when first stretching?

Whether your first starting to stretch or have full stretched ears I'd recommend stone, glass, wood, surgical steel.
I wouldn't recommend stainless steel, acrylic, or steel jewelry at all because these products absorb more and aren't exactly beneficial to stretching your ears.

♡Why can't I wear a taper all the time?

Wearing a taper can cause more damage than anything. It's pretty much like going to a shop and having your ears pierced but the piercer leaving the needle in. A taper can cause infection, uncleanliness and can cause extreme sensitivity if you have it in for an extended time period. They're good for initial stretching periods, but not for full time use.

♡What is the difference between gauging, plugging, stretching?

Stretching is the actual process. Gauging refers to the size (14 gauge, 2 gauge, 12 gauge, Ect) however, gauges is commonly referred to by the jewelry.
Plugging refers to the jewelry (so the jewelry can be called gauges or plugs) but "plugging" refers to plugging the jewelry into the earlobes.

♡What size are you currently at/what size are you trying to achieve?

Currently I'm at a 12 gauge (2mm)
I want to stretch up to a double zero

♡Any tips of avoiding infection/cleaning methods?

What I do is I take a small bowl and fill it with hot water and let my plugs soak for about 20 minutes to kill bacteria that is lingering. (Or you could just do this by taking your plugs out in the shower and let the steam accomplish this process) after the 20 minutes of soaking is complete I then empty out the water and put peroxide in the bowl and let that soak for about 10 minutes. Then I finish off by soaking my plugs in warm water and soap to finishing off the sanitizing process and get rid of the peroxide smell. I do this DAILY.
When cleaning your earlobes, just take a small wash cloth and clean with soap and water while taking a shower. Also, you can take a Q-tip and soak the tip in peroxide and clean around your earlobes to kill bacteria.

♡Look book♡

You all requested me to do a look book for yous so that's what I'm doing :)! This is clearly going to be a small look book but I'm trying to buy a new laptop as you all know, cause my other one is currently broken. But I hope you still enjoy this look book & if so, give this post a thumbs up and I'll continue making more :) Also, if you decide to buy any of the pieces above and try the looks I'm going to create for you, submit pictures to me on my tumblr so I can see. Just click the submit button on the left side of my blog. Or just click this link here: http://aliyah-assyria.tumblr.com/submit
So without further or do lets get started♡

♡The Marilyn Monroe unisex sweater is long sleeved with a 3D picture. This sweatshirt is really thick so it'll definitely keep you warm. This sweatshirt was $39.34 and is available in a variety of different colors however I went with a dark gray.
♡This sweatshirt looks good paired with really basic black jeans, or leggings. It provides a more comfortable look that doesn't take much effort but still provides the outfit to make a statement. I also paired this sweatshirt with simple black boots and did volumizing curls with back teasing (if you would like to see a tutorial on the hair, let me know)

♡The Mickey Mouse Worp is a unisex long sleeved crew neck. This crew neck is a little more on the thinner side but that's okay because it'll still make for a really good piece for spring time. This crew neck was on sale for $23.09.
♡This crew neck looks really good when paired with solid black pants. If you would like to make this crew neck dressed down then pairing it with black sweat or yoga pants would be a great choice. However, if you would like to dress it up you could pair it with solid black jeans. I also paired this crew neck with vans and gold jewelry. Hair wise, I parted my hair in half did two braids and then formed the two braids into a bun(:

♡The spend sweatshirt is unisex and long sleeved. This sweatshirt is thick and was $28.99.
♡This sweatshirt looks really good with red or black velvet material pants. For myself, I paired it with black velvet pants as well as black sandals. Hair wise I just did a really low bun :)

♡The "Ain't no wifey" beanie was $12.59 and matches/looks good with any outfit seeing that it's black :)

♡All these items can be found on choies.com! Also they are having a 10% off sale currently so take advantage of it and buy some stuff.
